Remains of fallen Specialist Sergeant Nurettin Tokyürek found after 2 years
The Ministry of National Defense has announced that the remains of Specialist Sergeant Nurettin Tokyürek, who fell as a martyr during the Claw-Lock operation in 2022 and had been missing since that date, have been recovered.
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) has made an important statement regarding the Claw-Lock operation region in northern Iraq. The Ministry announced that the remains of Infantry Specialist Sergeant Nurettin Tokyürek, who fell as a martyr during operations in the region on July 7, 2022, have been recovered after a 2-year interval.
The written statement issued by the MSB included the following:
“The precious remains of our heroic comrade-in-arms, Infantry Specialist Sergeant Nurettin Tokyürek, who fell as a martyr on July 7, 2022, within the scope of the Claw-Lock Operation, have been recovered. We wish God’s mercy upon our martyr, and extend our condolences and patience to his grieving family, our Turkish Armed Forces, and our beloved nation.”
Although Tokyürek fell as a martyr during the operation conducted in 2022, his remains could not be reached due to difficult terrain and combat conditions. Following long-term search efforts, the information that the heroic soldier’s remains had been recovered was shared with the public.
