Remarkable 'Istanbul earthquake' statement from Ahmet Ercan
Evaluating the potential Istanbul earthquake, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan stated, "There is no scientific evidence today that the Earth's crust in the Marmara region has reached sufficient tension to break."
Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan shared posts on his social media account regarding the expected major Istanbul earthquake.
Ercan noted the following:
"YOU HAVE RUINED ISTANBUL"
Are you aware that by repeating the unscientific claim that an earthquake will happen in Istanbul at any moment for the last 25 years, the northern forests have been destroyed for the wealthy with new, luxurious, and expensive structures? You have ruined Istanbul. Earthquakes are a problem for the poor.

"NO SCIENTIFIC DATA"
An earthquake will undoubtedly occur in the North Marmara one day. However, there is no scientific evidence today that the Earth's crust in the Marmara region has reached sufficient tension to break.
Every fear-mongering construction also fuels population and transportation density. Istanbul, with 5,300 people per square kilometer, has turned into an unlivable city. Reverse migration should be encouraged.
