Remarkable remarks from Cübbeli Ahmet on Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Veyis Ateş! 'I told them so many times...'
Cübbeli Ahmet made striking statements regarding Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Veyis Ateş, who were arrested as part of a drug investigation. Stating, "I was most surprised by Mehmet Akif," Cübbeli added, "I felt sorry for them. I wish it hadn't turned out this way. I wish they had lived in peace with their families and children instead of getting involved in these things. They have ruined their own lives."
Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known to the public as Cübbeli Ahmet, made statements regarding Mehmet Akif Ersoy and Veyis Ateş, former editors-in-chief at Habertürk who were arrested as part of a drug operation. Ünlü stated that he was particularly surprised by Mehmet Akif Ersoy.
“I WAS MOST SURPRISED BY MEHMET AKİF”
Speaking to the pro-government journalist Hadi Özışık, Ünlü said the following:
“I was most surprised by Mehmet Akif Ersoy. I don't know the others, I mean I don't really know those women or anyone like that. But Mehmet Akif was someone who used to visit my home. But now the prosecutor's office has evidence, there are confessions, there is everything. What can I say now? But it is a great pity. I mean, these children, these friends were at their peak, they were going to rise even higher.
I also liked Veyis Ateş very much, I knew him too. But I felt a sense of regret for both of them. When I say regret, I don't mean it as a curse, but I was hurt by them.”
Stating that he had previously warned both individuals regarding some of their guest choices, Ünlü said:
“I told Veyis Ateş so many times. 'My son,' I said, 'Do not bring that Dücane Cündioğlu on your show.' I said, 'This man is doing philosophy, he is muddling people's brains, he is leading young people away from their religion and faith.' I said, 'Don't do this.' He brought him on again, and again. And I said: 'Look Veyis, if you continue like this, this will not end well.'
I said the same thing to Mehmet Akif Ersoy. He went and brought on Mehmet Görmez. On the night of Eid al-Adha, Mehmet Görmez came out and said; 'There is no such thing as sacrifice in the Quran.' My friend, you are a man who has served as the President of Religious Affairs, is such a thing said to this nation on the night of their holiday? I said to Mehmet Akif: 'Mehmet Akif, look, do not polish these men, do not let them play with the faith of this nation.' He didn't listen either.”
“THEY RUINED THEIR OWN LIVES”
“I told them: 'Look, if you do this, my regret will catch up with you.' But now this drug issue, these Masonic structures, these satanist conversations... These are very heavy things. I felt sorry for them. I wish it hadn't turned out this way. I wish they had lived in peace with their families and children instead of getting involved in these things. They have ruined their own lives.”
