The timing of Ceyda Bölünmez's visit to the office of Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, accompanied by her father Süleyman Bölünmez, who was an independent deputy for Mardin in the 22nd term, drew attention.

BÖLÜNMEZ'S FATHER SERVED TIME FOR FUEL SMUGGLING

Bölünmez, who was released to be tried without arrest some time after being detained in 2000 for the crime of 100 million TL fuel smuggling, had gained the shield of immunity when he was elected as an independent deputy from Mardin. Süleyman Bölünmez, who could not be re-elected in the following election, was detained again on charges of international fuel smuggling while his retrial was beginning.

Bölünmez, who was detained on allegations of introducing fuel brought from Greece into the domestic market through illegal means, was arrested again in 2009 for the same crime along with 7 people, including his brother, 9 years later.
