Following the passing of 93-year-old İbrahim Polat, the founder of Polat Holding, Galatasaray Club issued a message of condolence:
The message stated,
"We have learned with deep sorrow the news that İbrahim Polat, the father of one of our club's former presidents, Adnan Polat, has passed away.
The funeral of the deceased will be held on Sunday, July 28, 2024, following the noon prayer at Teşvikiye Mosque, and he will be laid to rest at the Zincirlikuyu Cemetery Family Graveyard.
We wish God's mercy upon the deceased and extend our condolences to the Polat family and their loved ones."
WHO IS İBRAHİM POLAT?
Mr. İbrahim Polat, who laid the foundation for one of Turkey's most established enterprises with the contracting firm he opened in 1955, was born in Aşkale, Erzurum, in 1931.
Starting his career in contracting at a young age, he founded his first company and was responsible for numerous distinguished buildings in Istanbul. Polat, who began his ventures in the industrial sector by establishing the Ege Seramik factories in İzmir in 1972, later expanded into the fields of ceramic sanitary ware, mining, and energy, and entered the tourism sector in 1993 with the Istanbul Polat Renaissance Hotel.
