Reports of Batuhan Karadeniz being brought to Turkey clarified: 61 criminals extradited

The Ministry of Interior had reported that 16 criminals sought with red notices and 45 sought at the national level had been brought back to the country. It had been alleged that former footballer Batuhan Karadeniz, who is subject to a red notice, was among those brought back. However, in a new development, it was learned that Batuhan Karadeniz was not among the 61 individuals.

61 CRIMINALS BROUGHT TO TURKEY

The statement noted that as a result of these efforts, a total of 61 people—16 sought internationally with red notices and 45 sought at the national level—were apprehended and extradited to Turkey between March 15 and April 3. The statement said, "A total of 50 individuals were apprehended from Georgia, including 8 sought internationally with red notices and 42 sought at the national level; 4 from Germany sought internationally with red notices; a total of 3 from Greece, including 2 sought internationally with red notices and 1 sought at the national level; 1 from Poland sought internationally with a red notice; 1 from Portugal sought internationally with a red notice; 1 from the United Arab Emirates sought at the national level; and 1 from Bulgaria sought at the national level."

The statement included the following information:

"Individuals named F.A, T.A, T.Ç, H.M, Ç.İ, O.M, H.Ç, G.Ç, A.Y, Ş.K, H.A, R.C, D.N.N.Ç, V.S, A.D., and S.Ç., who were sought internationally with red notices, have been apprehended. Individuals named B.G, O.O.D, T.U, S.Y, A.L, M.K, F.A, Ş.A, E.İ, M.B, Y.D, İ.Y, E.A, U.U, H.A, V.K, C.B, O.K, E.D, F.G, A.R.U, A.B, R.G, Ö.M, M.K, İ.K, A.Y, K.K, K.A, H.İ, M.T, S.A, H.K, M.A.Ç, H.İ, Z.Y, U.Ö, A.Ç, Y.Ç, A.A, B.K, H.Y, M.A, A.K., and I.A, who were sought at the national level, have been apprehended."

The statement further noted that those apprehended were wanted for various crimes including premeditated murder, intentional homicide, qualified sexual abuse of a child, drug or stimulant trafficking, migrant smuggling, fraud, cybercrimes, armed threats, robbery, human trafficking, facilitating prostitution, forgery of official documents, theft, membership in a terrorist organization, and similar offenses. It added, "The apprehended individuals were extradited to our country or deported following judicial and administrative processes in the relevant countries and were referred to the respective Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices. We congratulate our departments and our heroic police officers, and we thank the officials of the Ministry of Justice."

WAS BATUHAN KARADENİZ EXTRADITED TO TURKEY?

A red notice had been issued for former footballer Batuhan Karadeniz as part of an illegal betting investigation, and his assets had been seized. It was alleged that Batuhan Karadeniz was among the 45 people extradited to Turkey. Journalist Burak Doğan stated on social media, "I asked about the matter. The person with the initials B.K. among the 61 people brought today is not Batuhan Karadeniz."
