'Resolution process' polemic between DEM Party and pro-government columnist
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan responded to pro-government columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, who targeted Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları.
Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, who is close to the government, criticized the DEM Party regarding the new resolution process in his article titled "Is Tülay Hatimoğulları trying to sabotage the process?"
Reacting to Hatimoğulları's statements, Selvi used harsh language in his column. The response to Selvi from the DEM Party was not long in coming.
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated the following in her remarks, without naming names:
"We are aware that the targeting of our Co-Chair Tülay Hatimoğulları is no coincidence. We know the reasons very well!
Those who try to achieve results by creating divisions within the DEM Party should stop rowing against the tide and instead look at our history and the political tradition we represent!
We are not 'supporters' of this process; we are one of its primary subjects, from our headquarters to our district organizations!
Those who wish to categorize us should know that our party, as a whole, is a party of peace, negotiation, and struggle. Those who turn a blind eye to this reality must abandon rhetoric and attitudes aimed at muddying the process!"
