Response from the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation to fund allegations: Claims of losses and dismissals do not reflect the truth

The Türkiye Diyanet Foundation (TDV) has issued a statement regarding allegations that it suffered losses due to fund investments and that foundation executives were dismissed on these grounds. The foundation stated that the claims in question do not reflect the truth.

In the statement made by the TDV, it was noted that there is no question of the foundation's financial resources suffering a loss in value through portfolio management companies that have recently come to the agenda or through relevant funds for which liquidation decisions have been made. The statement said, "Therefore, it is not the case that the Foundation's financial resources have suffered a loss in value or incurred losses through these funds."

It was recalled that the foundation, established in 1975, carries out activities in religious, charitable, and social service areas in 149 countries with its headquarters and 1003 branches. The statement expressed that, in accordance with legislation, cash assets that cannot be used in the short term must be evaluated effectively, and that these resources are managed using methods consistent with interest-free finance principles.

NON-INTEREST-FREE FUND CHANNELS

The foundation announced that a portion of its cash assets is evaluated in the TLK fund, which operates according to interest-free finance principles, and that this is its only fund investment.

It was noted that following liquidation decisions regarding some funds, the assets in the TLK fund began to be withdrawn in a controlled and gradual manner, and that the process is being carried out to evaluate the resources in channels other than interest-free funds.

The statement also rejected claims that the TDV General Manager and two deputy general managers were dismissed due to the fund issue. It was stated that the management change had been on the agenda of the Foundation's Board of Trustees for a long time and that its coincidence with the allegations was a "coincidence."

The TDV also announced to the public that it has initiated legal proceedings against those who reported the allegations, which it stated contain unfair accusations and slander against the foundation, as well as those who spread them on social media.
