Response to claims that 'Erdoğan and Assad will meet'
A response has come to the claims that President Erdoğan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will hold a meeting.
A denial has been issued regarding reports that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad would meet in Moscow, the capital of Russia.
The Daily Sabah newspaper had reported that Erdoğan and Assad could meet in Moscow next month. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs had stated that this report did not reflect the truth.
Syrian sources speaking to Iran's semi-official Mehr news agency also reported that the news was not accurate.
Meanwhile, Ali Asghar Khaji, an advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister, who met with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad in Damascus yesterday, said that they support the normalization efforts between Turkey and Syria.
The Iranian official stated that they would continue their efforts to resolve the problems between the two countries through diplomatic channels.
