Response to KİPTAŞ allegations at the CHP Convention: Were homes given out?

KİPTAŞ, a subsidiary of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), has denied allegations that homes were given to delegates during the 38th Ordinary Convention of the CHP.

Ali Kurt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the İBB Urban Planning Group and KİPTAŞ, announced that legal action has been initiated regarding the baseless accusations.

Ali Kurt, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the İBB Urban Planning Group and KİPTAŞ, denied the allegations in a statement on his social media account. In his statement, Kurt noted the following:

“In some media outlets, there are untrue allegations that during the process of the 2023 CHP 38th Ordinary Convention, homes were given to delegates by the İBB Urban Planning Group company KİPTAŞ. To state it clearly; no such transaction has ever taken place. Legal proceedings have been initiated against those who have made baseless allegations to date, and all legal rights will be exercised from this day forward.” 

Kurt also attached the expert report obtained by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to his statement.

The report stated: “When the scope of the file is examined, it has been determined that there is no document, record, prosecutor's decision, or court order regarding the claim that 70 units were given, as stated in the suspect's broadcast.”
