The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is introducing new restrictions on the sale and use of ethyl alcohol. This regulation is being implemented to ensure oversight of the alcohol market and to prevent losses and illicit trade.

MEDICAL USE AND RECORD-KEEPING OBLIGATION
The Ministry will track the domestic market use of ethyl alcohol intended for medical purposes. Healthcare providers and animal health institutions will be subject to an obligation to keep records regarding the usage amounts of these products.

USAGE LIMITS ESTABLISHED
With the new regulation, specific limits have been set for the purchase of ethyl alcohol for medical use. Primary healthcare providers will be able to use 5 liters per month, while veterinary clinics will be allowed 5 liters, and animal hospitals will be permitted 40 liters of ethyl alcohol.

PERMIT PROCESS FOR OTHER HEALTHCARE INSTITUTIONS
Requests from other healthcare institutions requiring the use of ethyl alcohol will be evaluated by the Ministry's Tobacco and Alcohol Department.
