Retired Brigadier General Babüroğlu evaluates upcoming joinings to the AKP: The government's goal
Retired Brigadier General Naim Babüroğlu stated that the transition of certain mayors and members of parliament to the ruling party is directly linked to the goal of constitutional amendment.
Babüroğlu stated that the government aims to reach the 400-seat threshold required for constitutional amendment, and that 405 seats could easily be secured to avoid a referendum.
Expressing that certain legislative changes will be made through proposals from commissions, Babüroğlu claimed that the DEM Party will also be included within this 400-seat count.
"This is not a secret, but some parties have failed to realize it and are squandering the actual strategy with tactical calculations," said Babüroğlu, issuing a warning with a quote from five thousand years of written history:
"Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat."
According to Babüroğlu, deviating from the goal for the sake of a few votes will not yield results, even if it does not lead to defeat.
