Retired military personnel hold support meeting for lieutenants
Support continues to pour in for the newly graduated lieutenants who have been targeted and face dismissal proceedings for declaring, 'We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal.'
Retired military personnel held a support demonstration for the lieutenants in Ankara starting at 11:00.
Retired Rear Admiral and Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman Yankı Bağcıoğlu also attended the meeting.

WHAT HAPPENED?
During the graduation ceremony at the National Defense University, the graduating lieutenants concluded the ceremony with the "sword-crossing" tradition, which has historically been performed at military schools.
During the demonstration where swords were raised, slogans of "We are the soldiers of Mustafa Kemal" were chanted. Ebru Eroğlu, who graduated first from the Military Academy, led her fellow officers in reciting the officer's oath.
Pro-AKP media outlets targeted the lieutenants.
