According to the Court of Accounts report, it has been revealed that the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality spent 113 thousand 875 TL on gift prayer beads and coffee cups. This exorbitant expenditure, made during the mayoral term of AKP's Murat Zorluoğlu, was recorded as a public loss.
Murat Zorluoğlu, who was elected Mayor of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality from the AKP in the March 31, 2019 local elections, was appointed Governor of Diyarbakır by a Presidential Appointment Decree on July 10, 2024.
A scandal involving Murat Zorluoğlu emerged in the Court of Accounts report published on September 22.
According to the report on HalkTV, it was revealed that 113 thousand 875 TL was paid for the 'purchase of gift prayer beads and coffee cups' in the public loss reports. According to the report, the purchase of the gift items was billed to the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality.
