Rıdvan Dilmen, mentioned during Murat Ongun's defense, announces criminal complaint: 'Not a single penny of illicit money has entered my throat'

Dilmen stated that he would file a criminal complaint regarding the statements made by Medya A.Ş. Chairman of the Board Murat Ongun during his defense. Dilmen said, "In my 64 years of life, not a single penny of illicit money has entered my throat! I have done nothing to tarnish the surname my ancestors gave me."

In his defense, Ongun had said, "What was normal in 2011 became a crime in 2021. It is a crime when we do it, but not when they do it. Article 10 of the Constitution was violated in this file. Has the supremacy of the 'whites' left this country and been replaced by the supremacy of the 'pure'? Why are we not equal before the law? Why is something a crime for Ali but not for Ayşe? I am a citizen of the Republic of Turkey and I want an answer to this."

Murat Ongun stated that the advertiser Alper Aydın, who was released, wrote in a petition sent to the prosecutor's office that he had hidden his partnership with former footballer Rıdvan Dilmen, and quoting Aydın's petition which included the phrase, "I hid my partnership with Rıdvan Dilmen, who is known for his close ties to our President," he said, "They arrested Alper and threw him in prison. No one has done to Rıdvan Dilmen what they did to Alper Aydın."

Dilmen made a statement on the matter via his social media account, saying he would file a criminal complaint. The former footballer Dilmen wrote:

"This morning, the necessity arose to make this statement to the public regarding the lies, slander, and insults Murat Ongun made about me. I will file a criminal complaint against him tomorrow morning.

Neither my company nor I have ever had a partnership with anyone to this day. I started outdoor advertising in 2017. These activities continued until the end of 2023. During that period, I worked with many agencies. One of them is SEV Outdoor Advertising.

In my 64 years of life, not a single penny of ILLICIT money has entered my throat! I have done nothing to tarnish the surname my ancestors gave me.

Finally, my request to our Minister of Treasury and Finance and our Minister of Justice (which I will also request from the prosecutor's office) is that not only my and my company's accounts, but the accounts of my entire family be examined and disclosed in a way that will clearly inform the public from the past to the present. Thank God, as one of our country's most important brands in football, I will continue my work and life in an honest and honorable way for as long as I live, respecting every segment of society and the fans of every club, having reached this point by scratching my way up, working hard, and using my talent."
