Riverbed diverted, missing young man still not found
Search efforts continue for the young man who went missing after being swept away by the current in the Köprüçay River, where he had entered to cool off.
The riverbed was diverted using heavy machinery to reach an object detected by underwater imaging equipment. However, the operations were concluded as the water flow rate did not drop to a sufficient level.
Search efforts are ongoing for 23-year-old Ahmet Yıldız, who went missing after being swept away by the current in the Köprüçay River in the Manavgat district of Antalya, where he had entered to cool off on August 8. Following the young man's disappearance, JAK, SAK, and AFAD teams participating in the search operations were only able to conduct searches in a limited area due to the high flow rate of the river and the rocky nature of the location where he went missing.
