Roblox speaks out after 1 month: 'We are committed to fulfilling our global pledge'

The Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) blocked access to the popular children's game Roblox in August.

The game was blocked by a decision from the Adana 6th Criminal Court of Peace.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç stated regarding the blocking of the gaming platform Roblox in Turkey, "It should not be forgotten that the Republic of Turkey is a state of law. Our state is obligated to take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of our children in accordance with our Constitution."

After approximately one month, a statement regarding the Turkey ban has been released by Roblox.

'ROBLOX RESPECTS LOCAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS'

The official statement released by Roblox included the following:

"We filed an appeal against the latest decision of the Adana 6th Criminal Court of Peace on September 2, 2024. We respect the court process and cannot comment on the details of the case due to ongoing legal proceedings. Roblox respects local laws and regulations in Turkey and is working with local authorities to restore access to the platform for our users and to prioritize the safety of Roblox users.
