RTÜK has blocked academic Süleyman İrvan from its social media account. İrvan shared the news with the note, 'I am an academic who has been blocked by the official RTÜK account.'
The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) has blocked academic and faculty member Süleyman İrvan from its social media account.
Sharing an image on social media, İrvan stated, "I have reported this to CIMER, let's see what happens."
CRITICISM OF 'KIZIL GONCALAR'
In a previous post, İrvan had criticized RTÜK, saying, "The members of RTÜK did not like the series 'Kızıl Goncalar'! However, I did not understand how they found it contrary to the national and moral values of society. I wonder what they would do if sects were featured in series as they are in the news? For example, what happened to the 9-year-old girl..."

"I am an academic who has been blocked by the official RTÜK account. I didn't say anything for a while, hoping they might lift this block, but they didn't care at all. Today, I filed an application with CIMER to have the block lifted; let's see what they will do."
