RTÜK's new president lists priorities in meeting: National and spiritual
According to the statement made by RTÜK, the Board held its first Supreme Board meeting under the chairmanship of Mehmet Daniş. In his opening speech at the meeting, Daniş expressed his hope that the new term would be beneficial and listed his priorities.
Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) President Mehmet Daniş stated, "While fulfilling our duty of supervision and regulation in the media, our primary priority will also be to protect our youth, children, and families from harmful content."
Stating that RTÜK is a deep-rooted institution that values both the technical and human dimensions of broadcasting, Daniş expressed that they will work with all their might to carry this legacy further.
Drawing attention to the Board's responsibility in the media field, Daniş said, "As one of our country's most powerful supervision and regulation mechanisms, we will lead the way in the development of broadcasting, the raising of ethical standards, and the establishment of a broadcasting environment that serves the public interest."
Making evaluations regarding the vision for the new term, Daniş noted the following:
"While fulfilling our duty of supervision and regulation in the media, our primary priority will also be to protect our youth, children, and families from harmful content.
We will work with determination to uphold national and spiritual values and to facilitate access to media for disadvantaged individuals.
Together with our Supreme Board members and all our colleagues, we will act with a common will to carry RTÜK further. May our new working term be beneficial and auspicious for us all."
