Statement from Russia on 'Ukraine': 'NATO views it as its own territory'

Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov made statements to journalists in the capital, Moscow, regarding current issues.

Responding to a question about the demonstration held in Moscow during the funeral ceremony for Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who died in prison in Russia, Peskov stated that it was an unauthorized action.

Peskov said, "Any unauthorized action is against the law. Therefore, those who participate in this action will be held accountable."

Evaluating the statement by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that "if Ukraine is defeated, NATO will go to war with Russia," Peskov expressed that this was an "irresponsible" statement.

"NATO VIEWS IT AS ITS OWN TERRITORY"

Peskov said, "We are hearing extremely irresponsible statements from some European countries. Now we are hearing this from across the ocean as well. These statements lead to an increase in tension and show NATO's perspective. NATO views Ukraine as its own territory. This shows that what Russia is doing, the special military operation, is correct."
