Russian energy company Rosatom: We have signed a 60-year service and maintenance contract for Akkuyu

Russia's state energy company Rosatom has announced that it has signed a 60-year contract with the Turkish side for the service and maintenance operations of the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (Akkuyu NPP), which is currently under construction in Turkey. The relevant statement was made by Dmitry Pashevich, First Deputy General Director of Rosatom Service, in an interview with the "Vestnik Atomprom" magazine.

As reported by TASS, Pashevich stated, "This contract includes technical maintenance of the Akkuyu NPP units, equipment repair, supply of spare parts, and the development of technological documentation for repairs. However, this contract does not cover consulting services related to operations. The contract is valid for the entire design life of the plant, which is 60 years."

According to the news in Türkrus, Pashevich also noted that service contracts are not always signed for the entire duration of operation. He stated that this situation varies depending on local legal regulations and the tender procedures of the client country. "We have three, four-year, 10 and 12-year contracts, and we also have experience in extending them. For projects such as the Akkuyu NPP (Turkey) and the El-Dabaa NPP (Egypt), service contracts have been signed for the entire design life," he added.
