Sabahat Akkiraz announces her resignation from CHP, saying 'the end of winter is spring'

Following the speech Özgür Özel made at the group meeting, the first person to bid farewell to the CHP was CHP İzmir MP Murat Bakan, while other party members also initiated procedures to resign from the CHP. 

Sabahat Akkiraz also announced that she had resigned from the CHP in a post on her social media account following Özel's statements.

"I AM RESIGNING FROM MY PARTY IN TEARS"

Akkiraz used the following expressions:

I am a member of a family that has been CHP-affiliated for 5 generations and have served as a CHP member of parliament.

I have always been honored to be a member of Atatürk's party.

Today, as I do not wish to walk the same path as those currently in the CHP administration, I am resigning from my party in tears.

I will continue to remain committed with the same determination to the Republic, Secularism, the Six Arrows, and the goal shown by our Atatürk, and for the future of our country, we will 'set out on a new path and say new things.' 'After all, the end of winter is SPRING.'
