Salary offer below minimum wage: 'Did I study for nothing?'

A woman shared her experience from a job interview on social media, sparking a major reaction. In her post, captioned "Look at the state Turkey has come to," she emphasized that the salary offered to her was even below the minimum wage.

"DID I STUDY FOR NOTHING?"

The message shared by the woman included the following words: "I finished the interview and the woman offered me a salary of 15 thousand TL. Yet the minimum wage is 22 thousand TL. Did I study for nothing? It is so frustrating… She even said something like, 'So what if you studied? Do you think you'll get a higher salary just because you studied?'"

"PEOPLE'S LABOR SHOULD NOT BE THIS VALUELESS"

This post quickly reached a wide audience and brought the issues of low salaries in the job market and unemployment among graduates back to the agenda. Comments on social media included, "The labor of educated people should not be this valueless" and "How can it be possible to offer a salary below the minimum wage?" Some users criticized the current economic situation, saying, "Unfortunately, a diploma does not guarantee a high salary these days."
