With a regulation published in the Official Gazette, it was announced that starting from January 1, 2024, the minimum sales price for local and regional newspapers will be 4 liras, and the minimum sales price for national newspapers will be 6 liras.

According to the regulation, the sales price, which must be stated on the front page of every issue of the newspapers, cannot be less than 4 liras for local and regional newspapers and 6 liras for national newspapers, including value-added tax.

Invoices issued for the sale of newspapers without commission will not be taken into account in the actual sales calculation.

BİK ANALYTICS REQUIREMENT

With the regulation, as of today, internet news sites will be required to use BİK Analytics, a measurement tool that collects visitor traffic data, which is owned by and whose naming rights belong to the Press Advertising Agency (BİK).

The traffic data of internet news sites that do not take the necessary measures for BİK Analytics to function or do not cease activities that hinder it will be considered zero, and proceedings will be initiated in accordance with the relevant legislative provisions.

The terms of use and technical details of BİK Analytics will be determined by the General Directorate of the Press Advertising Agency and will be announced on the Agency's website.
