Same hospital, different scandal: A fake associate professor follows the fake stent

Following the fake stent scandal at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University Hospital Faculty of Medicine, a fake associate professor scandal has erupted. While the investigation into expired fake stents is ongoing, it has been revealed that the associate professorship title of a doctor working in the dermatology department at the same university hospital is fake.

According to the report by Gülnur Saydam from Sözcü, the rectorate revoked the doctor's associate professorship following a letter from the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). The doctor who used the fake title continues to work at the hospital.

TREATED PATIENTS WITH FACULTY MEMBER TITLE

A doctor working as a faculty member at the hospital submitted another doctor's associate professorship thesis to YÖK. The doctor treated patients with the title of faculty member for a long time. 

The scandal came to light after the doctor whose thesis was stolen applied to YÖK. Following an investigation, YÖK sent a letter to Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University. It requested that the necessary actions be taken and issued a warning for a suspension decision to be implemented. 

Despite the letter from YÖK, the rectorate is allowing the doctor who used the stolen thesis to continue their duties with a faculty member position.
