Şamil Tayyar points to the Chairman of Pusula Portföy: Who is pulling what strings?

As the fund crisis affecting hundreds of thousands of investors in Turkey and the related investigation continue, a striking statement regarding the management of Pusula Portföy has come from AKP member Şamil Tayyar.

In a post on his social media account, Tayyar drew attention to Pusula Portföy's portfolio size of 633 billion liras and brought the age and educational background of the company's Chairman of the Board, Muhammed Yarız, to the agenda.

Tayyar stated that Yarız is 28 years old and has a background in political science, and made a remarkable statement regarding his past life.

Pusula's official figure: 633.8 billion TL

The size mentioned in Tayyar's post is also included in Pusula Portföy's own official disclosure.

On the company's continuous disclosure page dated September 10, 2026, the total managed portfolio size as of August 31, 2026, is announced as 633 billion 807 million 740 thousand 625 TL.

Of this, 117.4 billion liras consist of individual portfolios, 102.8 billion liras of legal entity portfolios, and 413.6 billion liras of institutional portfolios. In the same document, Muhammed Yarız is listed as the Chairman of the Board.

Tayyar had previously brought up the audit mechanism

In a previous post regarding the fund investigation, Şamil Tayyar argued that not only company executives but also public officials responsible for auditing and regulation should be investigated.

Tayyar stated that supervisory and regulatory institutions must also be addressed to restore confidence in the markets.

While investigations into money movements, company executives, and audit processes continue within the scope of the fund investigation, Tayyar's latest post has this time focused directly on the management structure of Pusula Portföy, which manages a 633 billion lira portfolio.

Tayyar's question, "Isn't there something strange about this?" has brought back to the agenda questions not only about money movements in the funds but also about how and by whom a portfolio of this size is managed.
