Ünye District Police Chief Celal Sarısoy was hospitalized after nearly drowning in the Atakum district of Samsun.
Sarısoy, who entered the sea at Taflan beach to cool off, began to drown shortly after.
Following the incident, Sarısoy was brought to shore by lifeguards and, after intervention by medical teams, was transferred to the Ondokuz Mayıs University Health Practice and Research Center. It was reported that Sarısoy, who is currently under treatment, is in critical condition.
