Sancaktepe Municipality passes to CHP, 'jacuzzi luxury' revealed

CHP won the Sancaktepe Municipality, which had been governed by the AKP for 16 years, with 50.59 percent of the vote in the March 31 local elections.

With this victory, the luxurious waste of the municipality, which had been under AKP administration since 2008, was also brought to light.

İmamoğlu’s campaign director, Necati Özkan, announced that the Sancaktepe Municipality, which had been managed by the AKP for years, was living in luxury. Özkan said, “The mayoral floor is 6,000 square meters, with a jacuzzi, a 200-square-meter kitchen…”

Speaking on Ruşen Çakır’s Medyascope channel, Özkan said the following:

“I went to Sancaktepe Municipality to congratulate Alper Yeğen.

The mayoral floor is 6,000 square meters; room after room, a lounge, a listening room, a resting room, a jacuzzi, a 200-square-meter kitchen. How can this be?

How can the public be managed like this? While the people below are suffering from great poverty, while there are people in tents waiting to get iftar meals, how can a political administration do this? It is not for nothing that the AKP lost today.”

A CHALLENGE REGARDING THE JACUZZI ALLEGATIONS

Sancaktepe's former AKP mayor, Şeyma Döğücü, made a post regarding the alleged jacuzzi in the municipal building and stated that the claims in question were false.

Döğücü stated that there is no jacuzzi in the municipal building and proposed that the municipality hold a live broadcast to prove it.
