Scandalous remarks from Israeli rabbi: 'If we were dealing with humans, we would send humanitarian aid to Gaza, but we are dealing with animals'

According to a report by Israel's Channel 7, Rabbi Meir Mazuz, one of the leading figures among Sephardic Jews in Israel, reacted to humanitarian aid for Gaza during his weekly lecture at a Jewish religious school he founded.

Mazuz opposed the call by US President Joe Biden to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, arguing that Israel should reject this request from the US.

The Jewish cleric stated, "We must tell Biden: You are right, if we were dealing with humans, we would send humanitarian aid to Gaza, but we are dealing with animals. What are we to do?"

Mazuz also mocked the humanitarian crisis faced by the people of Gaza under the Israeli blockade, saying:

“We trusted the Arabs too much to provide humanitarian aid. Because they were poor and had nothing to eat, they needed electricity, they needed food and sweet potatoes. Apparently, they don't need anything. They just want to harm Israel."

Rabbi Mazuz had previously defended the massacre committed by Israeli terrorist Baruch Goldstein in 1994, when he opened fire on Muslims praying at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, claiming that Goldstein had "prevented a very great danger" by carrying out this massacre.

CONSIDERED A SPIRITUAL LEADER

The 78-year-old Rabbi Meir Mazuz, known for his fanatical views, is considered the spiritual leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas Party, founded by Sephardic Jews.

Shas, which has been part of most governing coalitions in Israel since 1984, is a partner in the coalition government led by Benjamin Netanyahu and is currently the fourth-largest party in the Israeli Knesset with 11 members of parliament.

The Israeli Minister of Defense had previously made a similar comment.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who compared Palestinians to "animals," had said, "We are fighting human animals and we will act accordingly."
