SCT change on cigarettes

While the Special Consumption Tax (SCT) rate on cigarettes containing tobacco and cigarettes made from tobacco substitutes has been reduced, the fixed tax amount has been increased.

The Special Consumption Tax (SCT) rate on cigarettes containing tobacco and cigarettes made from tobacco substitutes has been reduced from 53.5 percent to 50 percent, while the fixed tax has been increased from 8.39 TL to 10.50 TL.

The Presidential Decree regarding the matter was published in today's issue of the Official Gazette and has entered into force.

Companies will decide whether cigarette prices will change following these increases.
