Narin Güran, the 8-year-old daughter of the Güran family residing in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district, left her home on August 21 and has not been heard from since she left her Quran course.
The investigation launched by the Diyarbakır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the disappearance of Narin Güran is ongoing. Within the scope of the investigation, Narin's uncle and also the headman (muhtar) of Tavşantepe neighborhood, Salim Güran, was arrested by the duty Magistrate Judge on September 1 on charges of "intentional homicide" and "deprivation of liberty" and sent to prison.
SEARCH CONDUCTED IN CEMETERY
The search efforts initiated to find Narin, involving over 2,000 people including police, AFAD, UMKE, healthcare workers, firefighters, and volunteer search and rescue teams under the coordination of the Diyarbakır Governor's Office, continue on the 15th day.
Today's search efforts were carried out under the supervision of the prosecutor leading the investigation into Narin's disappearance. Teams from the Diyarbakır Provincial Gendarmerie Command conducted a search in the cemetery in Tavşantepe neighborhood using underground imaging equipment.
No trace of Narin has been found in the search efforts that have been ongoing for 15 days.
