New audio recording emerges in the Seçil Erzan case! The Ali Böcügöz riddle...

New allegations are emerging in the multi-million dollar fraud case that has shaken Turkey. A 4-minute and 39-second audio recording added to the case file has led to new claims. One of the complainants in the case, İnci Çeviker, recorded a phone conversation she had with Seçil Erzan. During the call, Seçil Erzan connected a third party, whom she identified as a bank employee, to the line to discuss the money to be provided with İnci Çeviker. In the phone call, Seçil Erzan tells İnci Çeviker that the person speaking is Ali Böcügöz, who works in the bank's custody department.

IS IT ALİ YÖRÜK OR MERT ZEYDANLI?

The transcript of the audio recording submitted to the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office was prepared and added to the file. In the transcript, it was alleged that the bank employee whom Seçil Erzan introduced as Ali Böcügöz was Ali Yörük, and the transcript was prepared accordingly. In this record added to the file, it was seen that the person Seçil Erzan introduced as Ali Böcügöz was listed as Ali Yörük. However, in other folders, it was alleged that the Ali Böcügöz in the audio recording was not actually Ali Yörük, but rather Mert Zeydanlı, one of the complainants. The same conversations recorded as Ali Yörük were included in the case folders in another file, with Mert Zeydanlı listed as the counterpart to Ali Böcügöz.

SEÇİL ERZAN REVEALED WHO ALİ BÖCÜGÜZ WAS

So, who was Ali Böcügöz? Regarding this widely discussed phone recording, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office asked Seçil Erzan, whose statement was taken: “Did you ask Mert Zeydanlı to call İnci Çeviker and speak like a bank employee, and what do you have to say about this?”

Seçil Erzan gave the following statement in response to this question:

“İnci Çeviker is the wife of Bülent Çeviker, from whom I received 2,200,000 USD under the promise of a fund. When the date I promised for the fund arrived, they called me very frequently at that time. When the money was not paid on the day, I called Mert Zeydanlı from the phone I was using. I said, 'I will call you in a moment, will you speak to me as if you are someone from the bank?' He accepted. Subsequently, I called Mert Zeydanlı on the phone. I called while İnci Çeviker was next to me. I asked if everything was going well, and he had a short conversation with me, but the bank prepared a report as if Mert Zeydanlı had participated in deceiving İnci Çeviker along with me.”

BECAME A COMPLAINANT

Seçil Erzan was included as a complainant-suspect within the scope of the investigation initiated against Mert Zeydanlı. Zeydanlı, who was also in the other investigation involving the suspects, later took part in the main file as a complainant.

In her statement, Erzan explained how much money she received from Zeydanlı as follows;

“Mert Zeydanlı is one of the people I promised a fund to. I received a total of 2,200,000 USD from him. I received this money in my office at the bank. However, I only paid back 400,000 USD. I have not yet paid the 1,800,000 USD debt.”

THEY DENIED THE ALLEGATIONS

In the first hearing of the case, Ali Yörük and Mert Zeydanlı denied the accusations regarding this audio recording. Yörük and Zeydanlı claimed that they were not the people introduced as Ali Böcügöz.

HOW THAT FIRST RECORDING APPEARED IN THE FILE

The first transcript of that much-discussed audio recording was prepared as follows and was first entered into the investigation file in this way.

SEÇİL ERZAN: Are you recording my voice? Don't do such things, for God's sake, don't. I called now, don't worry. What are you doing, İnci?

(Since it is assessed that the audio recording was taken inside a car, sounds coming from outside are heard in certain parts.)

İNCİ ÇEVİKER: I am recording.

SEÇİL ERZAN: Oh, you're joking, don't do such things... Don't upset me. Why are you doing such a thing, my cousin? I don't even have such recording things, what is that program...

İNCİ ÇEVİKER: There is no program, you have it on your iPhone.

SEÇİL ERZAN: I don't know where it is at all.

İNCİ ÇEVİKER: Voice memos.

(Seçil ERZAN starts talking on the phone)

SEÇİL ERZAN: Yes, what are we doing now? One second, I'm putting it on speaker, one minute, there's a call coming in, one second, hello. There's a call coming in, I can't switch to speaker, one second...

SEÇİL ERZAN: (The car window is closed) so they don't hear. Oh Tanın, you are interrupting, (the phone rings and is put on speaker, the conversation begins)

SEÇİL ERZAN: Hello, yes, the line was cut when the call came in, it's the second time this has happened,

ALİ YÖRÜK: Hmm, I understand..

SEÇİL ERZAN: Now what are we doing, tell me, look, Ms. İnci and I are waiting, and I can't even bring her there...

ALİ YÖRÜK: Well, Seçil, let me put it this way, since we entered your transaction in 2 parts, we are doing our best to finish it today, we are putting up a fight, but if it's not finished, it will be in your hands tomorrow at 10 o'clock.
