Seçil Erzan's ex-boyfriend Candaş Gürol recounts what happened: 'I had a nagging suspicion...'

It has emerged that Denizbank Branch Manager Seçil Erzan, who defrauded footballers and businesspeople with promises of a fund, broke up with her boyfriend, Fatih Terim's lawyer Candaş Gürol, due to suspicions of infidelity. 

According to a report by Özge Eğrikar from Hürriyet, Candaş Gürol described his relationship with Seçil Erzan in his 3-page testimony during the investigation as follows:

"SHE STARTED HAVING SECRET CONVERSATIONS"

“I was in a serious relationship with Seçil Erzan, and if everything had continued under normal circumstances, I would have gotten engaged in February 2023. Seçil invited me to her house in Bozcaada several times. During the time I was with her, Fatih Terim, his wife Fulya Terim, and Nur Erkasap came to her house in Bozcaada. Fatih Terim even invited us to his house in Bodrum. We went there too. Seçil and Fatih Terim had a close, father-daughter relationship. Fatih Hoca trusted Seçil very much.

While everything was going well with Seçil, our relationship began to drift apart towards the end of November 2022. I could not reach Seçil at all during the day. When we got together in the evenings, even though she would normally talk on the phone in my presence, she started going to another room to have secret conversations. I was constantly catching her in lies.

When I asked the reason for this, she would constantly say that she was having trouble with her work and had family problems; that she couldn't meet the targets she was supposed to meet, that her branch might be changed, and that she was having trouble because of this. I had a nagging suspicion. More precisely, I thought there was someone else in her life. I canceled the engagement in January and completely ended my relationship in February. I was not aware of the fund promise.”

Gürol said, “Because of these events, I was hurt by Fatih Terim. Even though I was the family's lawyer, none of them had mentioned this situation to me.”
