The trial of 32 defendants in total, 19 of whom are in custody—including the hotel owner, hotel managers, municipal officials, and special provincial administration officials—continued at the Social Sciences High School Indoor Sports Hall, presided over by the Bolu 1st High Criminal Court.
On the second day of the trial, the defenses of 17 defendants were heard. The defendants denied the charges against them and presented various justifications. Finally, the hotel's imprisoned General Manager Emir Aras, who is the son-in-law of Grand Kartal Hotel owner Halit Ergül and was the 17th defendant to provide his defense, was cross-examined by lawyers.
