Second Disney incident! 'Atatürk' film 'Mustafa' blocked in Europe... 'An attack by the Armenian lobby'

The film 'Mustafa', which was released on Friday, October 25, was met with great interest in Europe as well.

The tickets for 'Mustafa', which focuses on the childhood of the Founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and holds the distinction of being the first animated feature film about Atatürk, had become a target for certain lobbies abroad as soon as they went on pre-sale on October 18.

It has emerged that this situation has reached the point where the film's screening in Europe has been blocked.

Speaking to Can Uğur from Cumhuriyet, one of the film's producers, Kamuran Ayna, stated that they were targeted by the Armenian lobby in Europe immediately after they began promoting the film, and announced that this obstruction succeeded just hours before the film was set to be released.

POINTED TO THE ARMENIAN LOBBY

Kamuran Ayna said, “Millions of our citizens live in Europe. We made attempts regarding European screenings based on the fact that our children there also have the right to know Atatürk, the founding leader of their country. The very positive reactions and support we received at first almost turned upside down as the release date approached,” while pointing to the Armenian lobby, which holds a strong position in Europe.

Stating that they received new negative news from distributors in Europe every day after the first positive release attempts, Kamuran Ayna said, “After making preliminary agreements with the distributors, we received calls from a different country every day. All of a sudden, all distributors began to express the grievances conveyed to them by cinema halls. As a result, we cannot show our film in Europe right now.”

WHO IS BEHIND IT?

Stating that the distributors' hands were tied as cinema halls were forced to close their doors, Kamuran Ayna said, “First came the rejection from Germany, then from Austria. And we had even planned the screenings hall by hall with the distributors. It was even known in which locations in Europe the film would be released. However, unfortunately, the halls could not withstand such a threat. It was the hundreds of thousands of Turkish children living in Europe who suffered. Because we made this film especially for children who need to understand Atatürk, and for parents so that they could explain Atatürk to them more easily. Our children in Europe were also very important in this regard. We had set a goal of strengthening their ties with their country and history, but we were attacked by the Armenian lobby. We are very sad that we could not reach our children with 'Mustafa'.”

Producer Ayna stated that they would continue their efforts for the 'Mustafa' film and made the following assessment:

“We made this film to explain our Atatürk to children through his human side. We made it so that they could find the strength to stand up in their own will, no matter what difficulties they encounter. We are talking about the founding leader of a century-old plane tree, the Republic of Turkey. Especially since the film 'Mustafa' focuses on Atatürk's childhood. We see that even in this, a polarizing, provocative language is used and people are being manipulated.

This is sad on one hand, and on the other, it is an indicator of how much we need this film. Let the external enemy try to block it if they want, let the internal enemy provoke it if they want; we are determined to make every child who is the future of the Republic of Turkey watch 'Mustafa'. Those who deal with our past, our founding will, the symbol of our 100-year freedom, and even his childhood will certainly lose, and our children who learn and understand Mustafa Kemal Atatürk well will win. We know this.”

NOT THE FIRST ACT OF ATATÜRK ENEMIES

Ayna expressed that this situation is not the first act of Atatürk enemies with these words:

"Actually, this is not the first attack that the 'Mustafa' film has experienced. The film, which has only been in theaters for two days, was also attacked by social media trolls who are enemies of Atatürk and the Republic on October 18, when its tickets went on pre-sale in Turkey. Those who supported the film reacted to the reactionaries under the hashtag “#furkanbölükbaşıtutuklansın” (Furkan Bölükbaşı should be arrested)."
