‘Secret’ document presented to Turgut Özal found in a second-hand bookstore! It first went to a scrap dealer...

The 8th President Turgut Özal was presented with a 'secret' report on the fight against the PKK, which has now been found in a second-hand bookstore.

It is alleged that after Özal's house was sold, the documents were sent to a scrap dealer, and a second-hand bookseller subsequently acquired the document from that dealer.

According to a report by Masum Gök from 10 Haber; the document is marked ‘secret’ and relates to the establishment of the Susurluk state gang.

The document in question was presented to the then-President Turgut Özal in 1993.

According to Gök, the document details the establishment of the PKK and its activities, and explains what kind of combat method should be implemented.

"THE DOCUMENT WENT TO THE SCRAP DEALER"

Explaining how this document ended up in the hands of the second-hand bookseller, Gök stated the following:

"At the beginning of this year, a house in Balmumcu, Istanbul, was put up for sale. The person selling the house was Ahmet Özal; that is, the son of President Turgut Özal, to whom this document was presented. Ahmet Özal said regarding the matter, 'The house where the document was found is Turgut Özal's house in Istanbul. We sold it a while ago. I didn't know there were such documents in the house. It's very interesting.'

The house was sold a short time ago. There was a large amount of paper and books in the house. An agreement was made with a paper scrap dealer to take them away. It was that paper scrap dealer who called the second-hand bookseller, Mr. Ahmet. Almost all of the documents and books that came out of the house, which it is understood was also used as an office by Turgut Özal for a period, belonged to Özal, and almost all of them went to the scrap dealer to be turned into paper pulp. One of the documents received by the scrap dealer was this very document, which sheds light, at least in part, on one of the most interesting periods of the Republic of Turkey..."
