Security in notary transactions is being increased, a new era begins

Recently, fraud incidents carried out using fake seals on notary documents have been drawing attention in Turkey. The increasing number of victims has led the Ministry of Justice to take new security measures.

The regulation that came into effect on July 4, 2023, which allows for the transfer of real estate through notaries, was abused by malicious individuals, prompting the ministry to take action.

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, in his statement at the Workshop on Increasing the Effectiveness of Civil Courts, stated that they are planning significant innovations in systems such as UYAP, e-hearing, e-notification, and e-notary. Among these innovations is the implementation of a QR code application in notary transactions.

Thanks to the application, title deed transfers and real estate sales will be able to be carried out more securely.

The new QR code system aims to prevent fraud cases by increasing the accuracy and security of notary documents. Thus, parties will be able to conduct their transactions in a more secure environment.
