Security sources: '32 PKK targets struck in Syria and Iraq'
Following the terrorist attack at TUSAŞ, security sources announced that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) have struck PKK targets in Syria and Iraq.
The Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that an air operation was carried out against terrorist targets in northern Iraq and Syria, and that a total of 32 targets belonging to terrorists were successfully destroyed.
In a written statement from the MSB, it was stated: “In order to neutralize PKK/KCK and other terrorist elements, to eliminate terrorist attacks against our people and security forces, and to ensure our border security; in accordance with our right to self-defense arising from Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, an air operation was carried out on October 23, 2024, against terrorist targets in northern Iraq and Syria, and a total of 32 targets belonging to terrorists were successfully destroyed. Our air operations continue with determination.”
The statement added, “In the operations carried out, a large number of terrorists were neutralized using the maximum amount of domestic and national ammunition.
The Turkish Armed Forces, which emerged from the bosom of our noble nation, will continue the fight against terrorism with determination and resolve, as in the past, for the survival and security of our country and nation until not a single terrorist remains.
During these operations, every measure was taken to ensure that innocent civilians, friendly elements, historical and cultural assets, and the environment were not harmed,” the statement read.
