New steps to be taken in the second resolution process, which is architected by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, named "Terror-Free Turkey" by the government, and conducted with DEM Party and the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, are awaited with curiosity.
Following the evacuation process in the Metina region, one of the important logistics points of the terrorist organization PKK, it is planned to gradually eliminate the shelters on the Gara and Hakurk line as well. According to security sources cited by the pro-government newspaper Türkiye Gazetesi, it is stated that the process could be completed by January with the destruction of the caves on the route extending to Qandil.
According to the information obtained, the criminological records of weapons in the shelters and logistics centers in the regions where PKK terrorists are located are being taken first. In addition to weapons and ammunition, explosives, drones, paramotors, satellite radios, and other equipment are also being recorded in the inventory by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).
After the registration procedures, the weapons and equipment are destroyed. With the completion of this stage, the caves that house hospitals are also blown up and rendered unusable. The evacuation of logistics centers and shelters in Gara and Hakurk is being carried out gradually under the supervision of MİT and in coordination with the Northern Iraq administration.
QANDIL DESIGNATED AS THE FINAL STOP OF THE PROCESS
In order to prevent PKK terrorists from dispersing to different regions, the final stage of the process was planned as Qandil. Following the destruction of the caves, it is foreseen that the members of the organization will withdraw to Qandil. It is stated that the process is being carried out under the supervision of MİT.
Security sources stated that returns to Turkey will be carried out via Qandil, saying, "They are gathering there and being listed. Afterwards, there will be shipments from Qandil. How many people there will be and how they will come is being determined. Lists will be given to consulates and customs. Special desks will be set up in these places."
THIRD COUNTRY OPTION FOR SO-CALLED LEADERS
Following the National Security Council's (MGK) decision on the confirmation and verification of the laying down of arms, the option of sending the ringleaders of the terrorist organization, who will be excluded from the scope of the legal regulation expected to include some sentence reductions, to third countries has come to the agenda.
According to the information obtained, the Iraqi administration did not want the ringleaders of the terrorist organization PKK to remain on its territory. Since these individuals cannot come to Turkey and the complete evacuation of Qandil is planned, the formula of sending the organization's leaders to third countries under Turkey's supervision is being emphasized.
OPTION OF RETURN TO TURKEY IN THE SİNCAR PROCESS
It was stated that the evacuation efforts in Sincar are being carried out under the supervision of the Iraqi government. Security sources stated that the process in the region could proceed similarly to the practice in Syria.
Sources assessed, "Those here will come to Turkey if they wish, or they will stay in Iraq. If this place is cleared of terrorism, Turkey will vacate the Bashiqa base. The return of civilians to Turkey will be ensured. Perhaps the first group to come to Turkey will be from Sincar."
TERRORIST LEADER ÖCALAN WILL HAVE NO OFFICIAL ROLE IN THE PROCESS
The debates regarding whether the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, will have an official status in the ongoing process have also been clarified. Security sources stated that it is out of the question for Öcalan to assume an official duty, saying, "He will not have an official duty. There is no such thing as a Disarmament and Peace Board chairmanship. Currently, Öcalan is taking part in the process of the organization's liquidation. This is normal anyway. Furthermore, there is no such thing as a villa in İmralı. There is a section with two rooms and a workspace. He will stay in this space."
BAHÇELİ FREQUENTLY BRINGS IT TO THE AGENDA
MHP leader Bahçeli has frequently reiterated his call for 'status' for terrorist leader Öcalan since the beginning of the process.
In his latest statement, Bahçeli had said, "Politicization coordination in the peace process is also the right of the person in İmralı."
Journalist Nagehan Alçı, who is close to the government, reported after her meeting with Bahçeli on September 11 that a villa with a garden in front of it, suitable for normal living conditions, had been built for Öcalan on İmralı Island. Alçı had stated that Öcalan did not move into this house due to his "status" demand.
Bahçeli, in his statement to journalist Ceyhun Bozkurt, stated that the interpretation of "villa" was derived from Alçı's words and rejected this characterization, using the expressions, "There is no such thing as a villa. A 250-square-meter residence was built. This residence is already within the prison complex."
