Sedat Peker: The state must announce it has given police a shoot-to-kill order

When I asked Sedat Peker for his thoughts on the treacherous attack on TUSAŞ, he used the following expressions over the phone;

”The footage of psychopaths with knives chasing police officers, and the news reports in the media about those who martyr police officers with weapons, naturally whet the appetite of terrorists. Leaders must make extraordinary decisions in extraordinary situations. The Republic of Turkey is facing the greatest danger it has encountered since the day it was founded.
In my opinion, the highest authority of our state, the President, should make an immediate statement. He should clearly state that the state has given its police a shoot-to-kill order against those who draw knives or weapons on the state's police, soldiers, or any other official. He should also tell prosecutors that if they are going to prepare an indictment against police officers who use their weapons under these conditions, they must write the President's name as the first defendant, thereby giving self-confidence to the state's security personnel.
In this way, citizens should be able to continue their lives in peace. If such incidents continue to occur, I fear it will not take long for citizens to take to the streets. When chaos erupts in the streets, both internal and external enemies will have joyfully seized the opportunity they have been waiting for.”
