Sedef Kabaş's sharp reaction after the earthquake: 'It is not the earthquake that kills!'
In a statement following the earthquake, journalist Sedef Kabaş criticized long-standing policies, stating, "If those who build shopping malls on assembly areas still receive 40% of the vote, the problem is not the earthquake."
Journalist and author Sedef Kabaş made a striking post on her social media account following the earthquake that occurred in Istanbul yesterday.
Kabaş criticized the government's long-standing policies following the earthquake and used harsh language.
In her post, Kabaş stated, "Those who made temporary earthquake taxes permanent, those who said 'are we going to give you an account' regarding the money collected in the earthquake fund, those who build shopping malls on assembly areas, those who insist on Kanal Istanbul instead of preparing Istanbul for an earthquake... If they still receive 40% of the vote... It is not the earthquake that kills!"
With these words, Kabaş criticized both the government's earthquake policies and the public's stance toward these policies.
Geçici deprem vergilerini kalıcı hale getirenler,

Deprem fonunda toplanan para için “size hesap mı vereceğiz” diyenler,
Toplanma alanlarına AVM dikenler,
İstanbul’u depreme hazırlamak yerine inadına Kanal İstanbul diyenler…
Hala %40 oy alıyorsa…
Öldüren deprem değildir!
While the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred in Istanbul yesterday did not cause any loss of life or major damage, it served as a warning for the millions of people living in the city. Experts continue to emphasize the need to be prepared for a potential major Istanbul earthquake.
