Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin suspended from office
The Ministry of Interior has announced that Seferihisar Mayor İsmail Yetişkin has been suspended from office following his arrest as part of an ongoing investigation.
In a statement issued by the Ministry, it was noted that an investigation is being conducted by the Seferihisar Chief Public Prosecutor's Office under file number 2026/394 regarding İsmail Yetişkin for the crimes of "bribery," "receiving bribes," "extortion by coercion" (3 counts), and "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes," and that action was taken following the implementation of a detention measure within the scope of the investigation. The statement indicated that, in accordance with Article 127 of the Constitution and Article 47 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, İsmail Yetişkin has been suspended from office by the Ministry of Interior as a temporary measure.
