Selahattin Demirtaş's statement on the 'call': Erdoğan, Bahçeli, and Öcalan... May God grant them all long lives
Selahattin Demirtaş, who is imprisoned in Edirne, made an assessment regarding the relaying of the call from PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan by the Imralı delegation.
In the message broadcast on Halktv, the former HDP co-chair, who has been imprisoned for years, made the following statement regarding the current agenda:
Erdoğan, Bahçeli, and Öcalan... May God grant them all long lives, but I will do more than my part to ensure the success of these three leaders who have taken the initiative for Middle East peace and the historic Kurdish-Turkish peace in the final turn of their lives.
If you are asking about the election, that is your business, your decision, and your will, my dear brother. You are the people; you make the final decision. No one is asking you today to vote for Erdoğan, Bahçeli, the DEM Party, or the CHP. You are only being asked to add a drop of water to the tree of peace.

I do not want my soldier brother on duty in Gabar or my own brother in Qandil to die. Let both of them stop firing bullets at each other first; let us, Turks and Kurds, embrace each other fully in the spirit of a thousand years of history. What comes after is the work of political struggle and politicians; it is our business.
May this month of Ramadan bring lasting peace, brotherhood, and tranquility. Let us all stand on the side of peace for this; I am on the side of peace until we succeed...
