In a statement regarding the matter, the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM) said, "Selahattin Demirtaş's mother, Sadiye Demirtaş, is under observation at a hospital in Diyarbakır due to an illness. Our comrade Selahattin Demirtaş was taken to Diyarbakır upon his request to see his mother and has visited her. Our prayers are with our Mother Sadiye. Our only wish is for her to regain her health as soon as possible."
