Selçuk Bayraktar unable to maintain his top spot
Forbes magazine has announced the 2025 results of its annual 'Richest Business People' list. The most notable detail is that Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar has experienced a decline in his net worth for the first time.
The Forbes billionaire list, released at the end of 2025, revealed that the balance of power in the Turkish business world is being reshaped. As in previous years, Yıldız Holding Board Member Murat Ülker remains at the top of the list. Ülker has managed to retain his title as Turkey's richest business person with a fortune of 5.3 billion dollars.
In second place on the list is Cemil Kazancı, Chairman and CEO of Kazancı Holding. With his fortune reaching 4.9 billion dollars, it is observed that Kazancı is rapidly closing the gap with Ülker and that competition for the top spot is intensifying.
100 MILLION DOLLAR DECREASE
Selçuk Bayraktar entered the list this year with a fortune of 1.7 billion dollars. It is noted that Bayraktar, who made headlines last year with assets of 1.8 billion dollars, has experienced a 100 million dollar decrease in his net worth for the first time. His brother, Haluk Bayraktar, who is also the CEO of Baykar Technology, was reported to have maintained his position with a fortune of 1.6 billion dollars.
One of the names that stood out as the biggest loser on the list was İbrahim Erdemoğlu, Chairman of the Board of Erdemoğlu Holding. Erdemoğlu, who was at the top of the list in 2023, fell to the 1.4 billion dollar level this year and failed to rank among the top 20 richest business people.
