Semester break decision from the Ministry of National Education

Stating that the number of students per teacher in primary schools across Tokat is 14, 11 in middle schools, and 10 in secondary education, Tekin said, "These figures are truly very good figures. Likewise, when we look at the number of students per classroom, it is in the 19-20 band. These are good figures. 

We would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially our President. Because the resources allocated to education have found their karşılık (equivalent/value) in terms of physical capacity. From now on, what we will do is to accelerate the steps that will increase the content and quality of education. The things we have done since the summer months were, in a sense, aimed at completing this. We have taken steps in this regard." he said.

Pointing out that they believe children should be directed according to their talents, interests, and inclinations from a young age in art and sports, Tekin said, "For the first time in Turkey, a music primary school... There were middle schools, high schools, and our fine arts high schools, but there was no place where music education started from primary school. Actually, the steps related to this are steps that already exist in our culture and tradition. 

Now we are trying to implement these by slowly revising them with current conditions. For example, the National Music and Representation Academy was established for the first time within the Ministry of National Education in 1934. Likewise, there are steps taken to train teachers for these places. There are things and thoughts that Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk personally wanted to do regarding music and art. We started with music in Turkey; we want to bring general art education to our children from a young age and evaluate our children's talents and interests in this sense." he expressed.

SEMESTER BREAK DECISION

Reminding that students will enter the holiday period before the spring semester next Friday, Minister Tekin spoke as follows:

"Before the 15-day holiday period, our teachers have completed the measurement and evaluation processes in our schools as of today. As of next week, our children and students were spending that week a bit empty due to other administrative procedures carried out by our teachers in our schools. Likewise, we were facing a similar picture at the end of the spring semester, that is, in June. Those last weeks were usually a period that our children could not spend very fully. 

As of this year, we have taken a step regarding that issue, we are making a new beginning, and we want to turn that one week into a festive atmosphere where our children can use the gains they have acquired throughout the semester in their daily lives. We want next week to pass in a festive atmosphere in all our schools, from knowledge competitions to debates, from folk dance activities to poetry, story, novel, and similar reading and interpretation activities. We have shared with our schools how they should behave or what kind of activities they will do regarding this. 

We invite all our parents to support our children in these activities and to guide our children in this sense if possible next week. Within the scope of what we have done in this context, we will have evaluated once again with our children the basic reference values that keep the society and the nation in Turkey together, which we always talk about, the values we want to give so that they can be inherited by future generations in the same way and the determination, resolve, and will to live together can be reflected to future generations, such as patriotism, compassion, sharing, and similar values in this activity week. One of these is knowledge competitions, word games, talent sharing, oratory games, and debate competitions."

Stating that they will also hold an activity called "Share your favorite," within this scope, students will share an item they love with their friend, Tekin gifted his own pen to AKP Tokat Deputy Yusuf Beyazıt within this scope.
