Serhan Asker shares update after release: Prosecutor has prepared an indictment

An investigation was launched by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in 2022 regarding a report published on halktv.com.tr in 2021, and an indictment was prepared on January 28, 2024.

Halk TV Managing Editor Serhan Asker shared the following message on his social media account after his release:

"If my lawyer hadn't noticed, we might have been arrested this weekend while heading out for Görkemli Hatıralar.

I was detained on a plane in İzmir due to a report that had nothing to do with me. I gave my statement and said, 'I have no responsibility for this report.' The prosecutor has prepared an indictment.

An arrest warrant was issued after the first court hearing...

I just appeared in court. I have been released."
