Serhan Asker's daughter's passport seized

Halk TV programmer and managing editor Serhan Asker announced in a post on his social media account that his daughter Ece's green passport had been seized. In his post, Asker stated that they had been notified that his daughter could not travel to countries accessible with that passport, and he criticized the situation with harsh words.

'WHEN A TRAVEL BAN IS IMPOSED ON HER FATHER...'

Drawing attention to the injustice with the words, "So, when a travel ban is imposed on her father, his daughter's freedom of travel is also taken away," Asker shared the incident with a photo full of smiles, saying, "We will smile at this injustice anyway." Reminding that his daughter is studying International Relations, Asker reacted by saying, "You did this to a student studying International Relations. Shame on you..."

Stating that his daughter had conveyed this situation to him with great sadness, Asker called on the authorities, saying, "I hope if there is a mistake, it will be corrected."

JUDICIAL CONTROL DECISION HAD BEEN TAKEN REGARDING SERHAN ASKER

The release of Serhan Asker under judicial control is linked to an investigation launched after a phone conversation, which was revealed by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, was broadcast on Halk TV.

Within the scope of the investigation, journalists Barış Pehlivan, Seda Selek, and Halk TV Programs Manager Kürşad Oğuz were also detained alongside Serhan Asker. While Asker, Pehlivan, Selek, and Oğuz were released under judicial control after giving their statements, Halk TV Editor-in-Chief Suat Toktaş was arrested and sent to prison.
