Sexual assault against soldiers in the barracks: Sentence for former Sakarya Garrison Commander announced

Former Garrison Commander Colonel Fahri Can Çağlar, who was accused of sexually assaulting soldiers under his command during his tenure, had been arrested.

The prosecution had submitted its opinion requesting that the defendant, Çağlar, be punished for the crimes of 'sexual molestation', 'attempted sexual molestation', and 'sexual harassment'.

Detained defendant Fahri Can Çağlar appeared before the Sakarya 4th High Criminal Court for the final time. The defendant and the lawyers for the parties attended the hearing.

The court panel sentenced the defendant to a total of 38 years, 70 months, and 106 days in prison for the crimes of 'chain sexual molestation', 'sexual molestation', 'attempted sexual molestation', 'sexual assault', and 'chain sexual assault' against 10 complainants, and ruled for the continuation of his detention.
