Sexual assault offender executed in public in Iran
In Iran's Semnan province, an individual convicted of "sexually assaulting two women through deception, force, and threats" and "forcing the victims to remain silent out of concern for their honor" has been executed in public in accordance with the sentence.
The verdict has been announced for a defendant tried on charges of sexual assault against two women in the Bistam district of Shahrud, in Iran's Semnan province. The individual, found guilty by the court, was executed in public this morning following the implementation of the death sentence.
SENTENCE FINALIZED AFTER SUPREME COURT APPROVAL
Semnan Province Chief Justice Mohammad Sadegh Akbari announced that the defendant was convicted of "sexually assaulting two women through deception, force, and threats" and "forcing the victims to remain silent out of concern for their honor." Akbari stated that the death sentence became final after being upheld by the Supreme Court. It was stated that with all legal processes completed, the sentence was carried out in public in Bistam this morning.
INVESTIGATION BEGAN IN 2021
Reminding that the incident became the subject of an investigation in 2021 following a report prepared by security forces, Akbari made the following assessment regarding the process: "Combating crimes against morality and actions that threaten the safety of society with determination is our priority. The implementation of finalized sentences is important for maintaining public order and strengthening the sense of security among citizens," he said.
